The machine is designed to receive trash from gravity type chute. The trash falling will partially pack it at the bottom of the chamber, moving it from the 24 inch diameter round trash chute to a 19 inch by 19 inch chamber.
Proper maintenance and hosuekeeping will ensure proper and long use of the compactormachine. It will keep cost down and will make the operator's job much easier. It's best to take the time to learn and understand the proper way to run and maintain the compactor.
You can always check our check list that will guide you on the proper maintenance and, most important, to know when to stop and call the manufacturer when something is wrong with the compactor's performence
To refill the tank, use hydraulic oil type ISO-46 wiht R & O and so the following:
Turn off the machine, push down the emergency button, and close the top chute gate. Open the front hopper door, and check inside the hopper for non-compactable trash, such as: books, wood items, bundled newspapers, clothing, carpets, appliances or similar hard and bulky trash. Carefully clear the blockage, close the front hopper door, open the top chute gate, pull the emergency button, and turn on the machine.

Trash bags should be 4 mils thick, 30" or 32" wide. There are two types of bags that can be used: single bags or tube type. Single bags are suitable for smaller buildings with less than 20 apartments. Using single bags on bigger building would require more frequent bsg changes. The tube bage is one long tube on a roll. Ten to fifteen foot sections can be cut and loaded onto the front of the compactor. The compactor will push off only as much bag as it needs to containthe processed trash. The length of the bag should be kept within sanitation regulations. The only way to regulate the weight of the bag is by its length. The longer the bag, the heavier it will be.
